Ecopsychology and place-making for environmental design professions
Ecopsychology, Placemaking, Environmental Design • 51m
This is a recording of a webinar presented live in March 2022. The presentation introduces the relevance of ecopsychology to place-making using a case study of the profession of landscape architecture. Covered themes include the tensions behind understanding place and belongingness, collective traumas at the root of contemporary environmental issues, and the complexities of navigating personal/professional ethics. As pivotal moments in various social-ecological crises come to the forefront, we are faced with the challenge and opportunity to re-assess what professional identity really means and make choices to support our collective vision for the world. This lecture invites each of us to ask ourselves these important questions.
